Lithgow Parish – Uniting Church in Australia (NSW/ACT Synod)

Lithgow Parish is seeking a Lay Pastor for a Specified Ministry placement (0.5 FTE) to serve across three congregations in Lithgow, Portland, and Wallerawang.

This role offers an opportunity to participate in the life and mission of the Uniting Church through pastoral leadership, worship, and community engagement in a regional setting.

Ministry Focus

  • ·         Pastoral care across a multi-congregation parish
  • ·         Leadership and support of worship
  • ·         Faith formation through Bible study and small groups
  • ·         Encouragement and development of lay leadership
  • ·         Engagement with established mission and community programs

Candidate Profile

  • ·         Demonstrated Christian faith consistent with the theology and ethos of the Uniting Church in Australia
  • ·         Capacity for pastoral ministry and relational leadership
  • ·         Experience in ministry, education, or community engagement
  • ·         Ability to work collaboratively within the structures of the UCA (Church Council, Presbytery, Synod)
  • ·         Willingness to engage with ongoing formation and support structures for Lay Specified Ministry

Placement Details

  • ·         0.5 FTE Specified Ministry role
  • ·         Initial 2-year term, with possibility of extension
  • ·         Placement within Lithgow Parish (three congregations)
  • ·         Remuneration aligned with Synod guidelines: $35,000 – $45,000 (pro rata)
