New to Church?
We would love to meet you!
Are you new to church or just want to find out more? If so, then this is the page for you. We would love to see you at one of our services!
We worship at 9:30 every Sunday. Your Church is a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, so make yourself at home. Hopefully you like it and it feels "just right" to you.
Here's a helpful list of what you can expect to experience when you visit on Sunday morning from when you pull into the parking lot, getting around the church, following along in worship, and the all-important coffee and chat after the service.
Parking
We have one parking area within the church grounds and because we are a corner block there are lots of street parking. at the church. There are handicapped parking spaces in the church parking area. We are about half a km from the train station.
Public Transport
Our church and parish centre is located centrally within the town and a mere two minutes walk from Main Street and five from the train station.
Entrance
When you enter the church grounds through the main entrance, from the corner of Mort Street and 43 Bridge Street, you will see the church and our Parish Centre. The church is open if the doors are open. In the Parish Centre your will find the toilet amenities, kitchen and the parish office.
For the sunday service you’ll also probably see people welcoming you to our community of faith. You’ll see people milling about, and screens and signs with church news and information about upcoming events and programs. Grab a coffee in the foyer if you need one.
Worship Services
Worship happens in the Church building. Sit anywhere and feel free to bring your coffee with you. The ministers do! Our Sunday service is at 9:30 am and include readings from the Bible and a message from one of our Lay Preachers and Pastors. We have Communion every fourth Sunday. Everyone is welcome to receive Communion.
Everything you need to follow along with the worship services is either printed or projected on the large screens in the worship centre. All the parts of the service are clearly laid out and the Ministers provide additional guidance and explanation throughout the service.
Kids Church
At present we do not have a Sunday School.
Music
Our church as a fine pipe organ and a grand piano. Each service is accompanied by the organist with traditional hymns. Sometimes special musical ensembles, or the Taize choir, including our kids choirs, play and sing on various Sundays and service through the year.
After the Service
We'd love you to stay around after the Sunday Service, share great a morning tea and chat with us. If you're new to Church make yourself known to our welcomers (you would have seen them at the beginning of the service) and we would love to give you more information about our Church.
